Default Generals and War Marshalls

I've been playing Nightfall this weekend and having a great time doing it. I get on the forums this morning and see nothing but complaints about grinding and leveling heros. Basically people are complaining about how they have to aquire promotion points for Tyrian born characters. That really isn't a valid claim because in the end everyone in the game is going to be a General or War Marshall anyway and the ranks won't mean anything. So my conclusion is that everyone should play the game to have fun and not get hung up about getting to the end of the game and having that cool rank under your name. If we all end up as War Marshalls in the game doesn't that make the title worthless anyway so why can't we just have fun playing the game.

Thanks Cool Troll John

reverse psychology in it's finest....

John, the people complain because they can't play the game the way they want. They simply want to do storymissions, and beat the game. Instead, they have to farm and grind points for their sunspear title now.
And not everyone enjoys farming and grinding. So they complain.

As for you claim that it makes the title worthless: well, all the more reason why it shouldn't be such a big dependancy for finishing the game.

Remember when they said that Nightfall was going to be "slowed" down so that people will be able to "stop and smell the roses"

Well.....this is what they meant by it. Since when is killing things not fun?

i dont think getting rank 7 sunspear is much of a problem, i got it after about 5-6 hours of playing (just doing quests and missions)

Just take all the blessings you can and when you see something that will ive points, just kill it.

This reminds me of the "Protector" titles that were much coveted and rather rare to spot early on. Now it seems that a lot of people have maxed Protector. This one will be even easier, if you don't mind the grind.

You don't really even need to grind to get enough promotion points to advance. Just keep your eyes peeled for secondary quests. There are more than enough to raise you through the ranks.

lol my only nightfall gripe is I can't rename these Heroe's, and a few AI quirks. Sure some have direct links into the story, but meh they're my pets as far as I'm concerned.

Talk to the Sunspear Scouts on the starter island, Priests on the next area (and haven't made it past there yet...) and take their blessing. You will then have an icon pop up in one of your monitors (where your enchants show and such) and it'll say plant, or insect or monster and such, then go kill the things that fall under such headings. for example: Plants - Ibogas, Insects - termites...and really there's a lot more. Or just check your promotion points, kill something, and see if you get more after!

Look, no matter how great something is, you'll always get a few ass hats who have to complain. You can't satisfy everyone, unfortunately. :\

Grind for Sunspear Promotion Points - now that is funny. There is no Grind involved whatsoever!

There is absolutly no grind involved to getting those points. Just explore the map and kill everything. Make sure you have the monster hunt things on you and next thing you know you will have the title. This will also help you on your way to the mapping title.

Just do the quests, and grab the monster hunt bonuses from every rez shrine you come across.

There is no grind to get the title, because you have to kill all those monsters just to get the quest done anyways. Its not like you can run around them.
